Adaptive Dance

Precious Moments is an adaptive dance class designed to serve children with special abilities from ages three through teens. The focus of this class is to enhance each child's ability, boost confidence, enjoy an extracurricular activity and belong to a team. A dance routine will be established and all are invited to participate in the annual dance recital. Additional therapists and volunteers from Children's Hospital of Michigan/ Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan will also be assisting the dancers.


Karen Glugla, OTR/L has been an Occupational Therapist for the past 20 years. She works as a Clinical OT Specialist at Children's Hospital of Michigan/Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan Stilson Specialty Center. She works with children from birth-20 with a very broad range of diagnoses. She also works in the MDA clinic where she monitors children with Muscular Dystrophy diagnoses. Karen also has 7 years experience working with children in an adaptive dance class.

Carley Glugla has been dancing for 16 years & for the past 8 years, she has been working with special needs children in an adaptive dance class. She also has experience with providing child care to children with special needs, and has been a camp volunteer for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.


Precious Moments I for ages 3-6 is Wednesdays from 6:30-7:00pm

Precious Moments II for ages 7 & up is Wednesdays from 7:00-7:30pm


The cost of the class is $30 per month. Students may also drop in for $10 per class.
