2020 Summer Schedule

Session 1: June 23-July 16    

Session 2: July 21-August 13

Ann Parsley School of Dance will hold two, four week sessions. Students may attend either or both sessions. The schedule is the same for both sessions unless a class fills or is cancelled due to lack of enrollment. Students are encouraged to continue their training over the summer. Dancers who wish to enroll in a pointe class must also enroll in a ballet class. There is no proration of tuition. If you cannot attend all classes in a session you may make up a class in a different session or pay the drop in rate.

 OTher summer dance activities

Beginning Pointe Workshop-June 17, 2020 from 12 pm - 4 pm 

This four hour workshop is designed for dancers beginning pointe this summer. It will cover all of the basics of pointe shoes including selecting the right fit, sewing and tying shoes as well as beginning pointe safety and technique. It is a mandatory workshop for any dancers starting pointe in the summer session. 


Fairy Tale Dance Days-Wednesday, June 24, 2020 and Wednesday, July 22, 2020

You are cordially invited to attend a royally exciting day filled with your favorite princesses! These theme based classes teach a love of dance and performing arts through creative play. Dancers ages 4-6 will dance along with their favorite princess stories and create related crafts. Each fun-filled session consists of introductory dance, story time and craft time. 


Advanced Ballet Technique Drop-ins-June 25 (Brandon Koepsell), July 2 (Amber Michalik), July 23 (Hannah Carden), July 30 (Hannah Carden), August 6 (Amber Michalik), August 13 (Hannah Carden) 

Join us on select Thursdays for advanced ballet and pointe technique for Grade IV and up. Teachers are subject to change. If there are not at least 4 students pre-registered 3 days prior to the class, the class will be cancelled. Thursdays from 11:00-12:30pm. Cost is $25 per class.


Acro Dance Camp-July 20-22, 2020

This 3 day summer camp features gym-based strengthening and stretching that will keep you in shape all summer! Learn new tricks and improve old ones in these intense days of training. This camp is not just for acrobats - all dancers are encouraged to come out to improve their flexibility and strengthen their bodies. This camp will help you improve in all types of dance, consisting of warm up & conditioning, along with acrobatic skills, including balances and basic tumbling. 


Masters Week Summer Intensive-August 17-20, 2020

Ann Parsley School of Dance will be holding a week of master’s classes for ages 8 and up sponsored by the Macomb Ballet Company. The workshop will be held from August 17-20. We will be bringing in guest teachers from around the country to share their knowledge and skills with our dancers. Dancers will sharpen their skills and build their technique in dance styles including ballet, partnering, modern, jazz and lyrical. 


Ballet Boot Camp-August 25-27, 2020

For ages 8 and up, this 3 day mini intensive is designed to bridge the gap between the academic year and summer classes and to help prepare dancers for auditions. The boot camp will focus on body conditioning, ballet technique, pointe work, stage presentation, quality of movement and audition tips. Dancers should have several years of ballet experience. Students will have the opportunity to train with the directors of the Macomb Ballet Company. 


Private Lessons

Summer is a great time for private lessons. Private lessons are meant to supplement a dancer’s regular training. Whether you want to develop your artistry or fine-tune your technique, working one-on-one with a teacher can help take your dancing to the next level.
